You will travel in a private modified safari Land Cruiser with photographic roof thatch, window seats are guaranteed to all. Professional & experienced local safari driver guide & a private safari chef will be with you from the starting to the end. We assure you a stress free safari where you don’t need to think of where to sleep, what to eat and so on, all is taken care of. The chef will prepare all meals for you including pitching your tents. You will be camping at public campsites & sleep in canvas tents with mattresses & pillows, we advise to bring your own sleeping bags but you can still rent them here in Arusha town at reasonable price paid once for whole trip, bathroom facilities at the campsites are shared with other campers.
Day 1 : Arrival Day
On arrival at Kilimanjaro international airport or Arusha airport meet our representative and transfer to Planet lodge in Arusha. Later our safari manager will come for detailed safari briefing.
Day 2 : Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast drive to Tarangire National park. The park is situated at the base of the Great Rift Valley & it is made up of low lying hills & plains, its vegetation is mainly acacia woodland & giant African baobab trees. Tarangire River & huge swamp in the south are the main source of water in the park yearly around. This river & swamp attracts large number of animals especially during dry seasons. Tarangire National park is famous for largest elephant herds in Africa about 6000 elephant was recorded here. The park is also home to some rare species of Great Kudu, Fringed-eared Oryx as well as Ash starlings. Later drive to the campsite for dinner & overnight.
Day 3 : Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park – Lake Eyasi
On this day our 7 days Tanzania camping safari start after breakfast by driving to Lake Manyara National Park, for a full day game drive, (lunch box will be served inside the park. Manyara Park is nestling at the base of the Great East African Rift Valley & it is well known for its incredible beauty. Park’s varied habitats, enough fodder & water attracts a big number of animal species including large herds of African elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, hippos & many more. Colorful flamingos & other aquatic birds can also be seen along the Lake, in lucky day tree climbing lion can be spotted sleeping on branches of Acacia trees.
In the afternoon drive to Lake Eyasi and visit the Datoga tribe & the blacksmith, late afternoon you will walk along the lake shore while watching the sunset then drive to Bushman Campsite for dinner & overnight.
Day 4 : Lake Eyasi – Serengeti National Park
Early morning hunting with Bushmen including tuition on survival skills. Bushman is an indigenous tribe inhabit the area around Lake Eyasi, this tribe is divided into three clans of Hadzabe, Tindiga & Datoga “The black smith”.
The bushman leaves in hunting and gathering of eggs, fruits & tubers pretty much the same as people who lived during the Stone Age. Afterward you will come back to the camp for full breakfast before departing for Serengeti National park, the driving across beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu & along the Crater rim of Ngorongoro.
You will stop at the view point of the Crater for some nice picture of the crater floor from the rim. On the way you will visit one of the Masai Village for some cultural encounter, some Masai worrier will invite you & take you in and around their houses you will meet some kids & other family members, you may ask as much questions as you can. Later they will sing & dance their favorite songs which involves high jumping. If you wish you can join the dancing.
Afterward, drive down into the heart of the “wild Africa” Serengeti National park with its endless rolling plains. Break for picnic lunch at Naabi Hills Gate or at the kopjes (Rocky outcropping) before heading to the Central Serengeti area called Seronera which is the richest wildlife habitat in the park endowed with Seronera River the valuable water supply in this area hence attracts a vast number of wildlife around the Serengeti. Afternoon game drive in search of the Great Wildebeest Migration (depending on time of traveling). Late afternoon drive to the Campsite for dinner & overnight.
Day 5 : Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti
On this day as early as 06:30 you will leave with breakfast box & lunch box for a full day of game drive in Serengeti National Park, the early morning game drive can allow you to spot cat family on the road as they avoid morning mist. You may also see other nocturnal predators coming back after their long night of hunting or a group of lioness organizing a morning ambush or having a morning meal. If it is the time for the Wildebeest migration you can go straight to where they are & spend much time with the herds with possibilities of experience some animal actions like hunting, fighting, playing even killing.
Break for breakfast somewhere in the bush, after breakfast proceed with game drive until lunch time, where you can have it in one of the picnic site or in the bush. After lunch and some rest embark to your sunset game drive. Return back to the campsite during or before the sunset.
Day 6 : Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Start early & do much of the game drive in the Serengeti & late afternoon drive to Ngorongoro highland & to Simba campsite at the Crater rim for sunset, dinner & overnight.
Day 7 : Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After breakfast as early as 06:30 you will descent over 600 meters into the crater floor for a wonderful game drive. Supported by yearly around water supply & fodder Ngorongoro Crater supports a big number of animal species including rare black Rhino, wildebeest, hippos, eland, buffalo, zebra, warthog & giant African elephant.
Ngorongoro Crater “The 8th nature wonder of the word” as it is believed to be has a dense population of predators which includes lions, cheetah, hyenas, jackals & the ever mysterious leopard. Later you will drive to Lake Magadi a small shallow alkaline lake on the southwestern corner frequently visited by flamingo, hippos & other aquatic birds.
Late afternoon drive out & back to Arusha for overnight or drop off at Kilimanjaro international airport for departure (late flight KLM departing JRO at 21:30 hrs can be an ideal). Accommodation on this day can be included upon request at extra cost. Karibu Sana!
